The Respiratory Therapy department at Brooks provides respiratory care for patients of all ages. Care delivery areas include, but are not limited to general floors, nursery, emergency rooms, special care unit, ambulatory surgery unit, post anesthesia recovery area, pediatrics, and the pulmonary diagnostic area.

The Respiratory Therapy Department at Brooks takes pride in providing quality care and has been nationally recognized for excellence. In 2011 Brooks was recognized by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) for their success in preventing ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP). Brooks is now an IHI Mentor Hospital for facilities nationwide, providing guidance to other organizations working to reduce their VAP rates. The Respiratory Therapy Department at Brooks is staffed by Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapists, with many who have achieved specialized credentialing.
The department is staffed 24 hours per day for inpatient care and Monday - Friday from 7 am till 7 pm for outpatient care.
