Inpatient Chemical Dependency Treatment

For adults age 18 +

At our Lakeshore Health Care Center campus, TLC now offers a new 20-bed inpatient treatment center featuring private rooms with half baths, extra wide corridors, a fitness center and extra wide corridors creating a sense of openness as a way to reduce stress. Focusing on a body, mind and spirit approach, our inpatient program uses and integrated whole-person model for treating substance abuse and addiction. At Lake Shore Health Care Center, chemical dependency in a family affair, where family members are considered part of the patient’s care team. Group therapy in a common space is a vital part of addiction treatment and promotes peer group support. Individual therapy sessions help uncover sources of stress, anxiety and depression. Experienced counselors support patients in processing emotions and self-regulating in a healthy way.

Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Clinic Admission Criteria & Warning Signs

Anyone 13 years of age or older who voluntarily undergo our professional assessment meets the criteria for admission.

Warning Signs
• Loss of control
• Neglecting activities and responsibilities
• Increased risk-taking
• Dramatic mood changes
• Relationship issues
• Changes in appetite or sleep patterns
• Secrecy
• Change of appearance (weight loss or gain, deterioration of physical appearance, etc.)
• Withdrawal symptoms (anxiety, shakiness, sweating, nausea, etc.)

Our Method

TLC Health uses Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) methods in our substance use disorder treatment plans. EBP methods integrate clinical expertise and research evidence with patient goals and values in order to make appropriate, effective decisions about patient care.

Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) is a treatment framework that involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a goal-oriented, client-centered method that helps facilitate and engage intrinsic motivation in order to change behavior and resolve ambivalence.

Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Counseling

TLC Health Network’s Derby and Cassadaga Clinics provide individual and/or group counseling to both adults and adolescents who need help maintaining a healthy recovery from drugs or alcohol use. We also provide DWI program services for individuals involved in the legal system due to DWI/DUA charges.

Emergency Room Services

Lake Shore Health Care Center’s Emergency Room staff is trained to assess individuals experiencing mental health issues, active withdrawal or anticipation of withdrawal from alcohol or drugs. Individualized comprehensive evaluation is completed to determine the best possible treatment options.
